2011’s Festival of Speed was as busy and breathtaking as usual.
Gates open at 7am and there is always a queue already waiting for them to be unlocked. The first people literally run in order to get the best spots in the stands. So, we have 5 minutes working flat out at access control and then the early birds are through and we are all left standing, just a little dazed, after once more surviving the human stampede. Still we then have some downtime when everyone can grab some breakfast before the real business of the day begins.
With over 45,000 attendees a day going through access control and with a peak rate of over 200 people entering a minute, the Festival of Speed is certainly a busy event but people are so excited to be there, and there are so many attendees from over the world who have really been looking forward to the event, which always makes it enjoyable.
